New York City

8 million people. 8 million opinions on where to eat.

NYC has more free things to do than most cities have things to do, period. Free museum nights, free concerts in Central Park, free ferry rides, and 1,700 parks. The expensive stuff is worth it too — but you don't need money to have a great day here.

Local tip

Most museums have a free or pay-what-you-wish night. MoMA is free Fridays for NY residents. The Met is always pay-what-you-wish if you have a NY ID.
