Dallas has a secret: its richest residents funded museums and then made them free. The Nasher Sculpture Center, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Crow Museum of Asian Art are all free, all world-class. Deep Ellum has live music every night, the BBQ rivals any city in Texas, and the Arts District is the largest contiguous urban arts district in the country. First Saturday at the Dallas Farmers Market in the morning, then walk to Deep Ellum for afternoon music. That's the best free day in Dallas.
