Knoxville sits at the doorstep of Great Smoky Mountains National Park (the most visited national park in America, and it's free). But the city itself — Market Square, the Old City, the Tennessee Theatre — has real energy. The University of Tennessee brings game-day chaos, and the food on Gay Street keeps getting better.
