Milwaukee's lakefront is stunning and free. The Milwaukee Art Museum opens its wings (literally — the Calatrava building moves) every day at noon. Summerfest is the world's largest music festival, the brewery tours are cheap, and the Friday fish fry is a civic institution. Friday fish fry is a religion here. Every bar and restaurant has one. Lakefront Brewery's is the best — show up early because the line gets real.
