Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo is consistently rated the best zoo in the world — the desert dome, the indoor rainforest, the aquarium are all under one roof. The Old Market is a walkable brick-street district with good food and bars, and the steak scene is exactly what you'd expect from Nebraska, which is to say: excellent. Joslyn Art Museum is free and has an impressive permanent collection. Most people come to Omaha for the zoo and skip this entirely — don't.
