Spokane has a 100-foot waterfall in the middle of downtown — Spokane Falls, visible from bridges and a free gondola-adjacent path. Riverfront Park wraps around it, the outdoor access rivals bigger Pacific Northwest cities, and the cost of living is a fraction of Seattle. The Centennial Trail is 40 miles of free riverside path. Walk the falls loop in Riverfront Park — you'll see the upper and lower falls from multiple angles, all free. Best in spring when snowmelt is peak.
