List all 3,200+ cities with safety grades and crime rates.

Full safety profile for a city. Includes grade, risk level, crime breakdowns, percentiles, trend, victim odds, and FAQs.

Top 50 safest cities nationally, or within a state.

Rate Limits

100 requests per minute per IP address. If you exceed the limit, you will receive a 429 response with a Retry-After header.

Responses include Cache-Control: public, max-age=3600. Please cache on your end.

This API is free. When using CityCheck data, please include attribution:

"Data from CityCheck (citycheck.live)"

Every API response includes source and sourceUrl fields with the correct attribution and link back to the relevant page.

Data Sources

Safety grades and crime rates are derived from the FBI Uniform Crime Report (UCR) program, supplemented with US Census population data. See our methodology and data sources pages for details.
