🆓 Free this weekend
AREA15
Spring Valley
Free to enter the main concourse — shops, bars, art installations, projections on the walls. Omega Mart and other paid experiences are inside, but you can browse the complex, grab a drink, and see the digital art without buying a ticket. The Escape Game ($43) is one of the best-rated escape rooms in Vegas. Good for an hour or a whole evening.
Arts District First Friday
Arts District
Monthly street festival on the first Friday of every month in the Arts District. Live music, food trucks, 30+ galleries open late, local vendors, street performers. Free. A free shuttle runs between Fremont Street and the Arts District from 3pm to midnight. This is where locals actually go. The galleries are open for browsing any time, but First Friday is when the whole neighborhood comes alive.
Neighborhood Bar
Arts District
Dive bar with live bands every night and karaoke on Wednesdays and Sunday afternoons. Good drink prices. Zero tourist energy. If you want to know what Vegas locals do on a Tuesday night, it's this.
Bellagio Fountains
The Strip
The most famous free show in Vegas. Choreographed water, music, and light on an 8-acre lake. Shows run every 15-30 minutes from afternoon until midnight. Best viewed from the pedestrian bridge or the Bellagio lobby bar. After 20+ years, it's still genuinely impressive, especially at night.
Downtown Summerlin
Summerlin
Open-air shopping and dining district with 125+ shops and restaurants. The Lawn hosts free outdoor concerts, yoga, and community events. Holiday ice rink in winter. Saturday farmers market. This is where Summerlin residents hang out — it feels like a completely different city from the Strip.
Maxan Jazz
Arts District
Sushi restaurant meets jazz club in the Arts District. Live performances six nights a week — jazz, Latin, blues. Intimate room with some of Vegas's best local musicians. No cover most nights, just a food/drink minimum. This is where the people who actually live in Vegas go to hear music.
🌳 Get outside
The Neon Museum
Downtown / Fremont
Outdoor museum with 200+ retired neon signs from old casinos and businesses — the Stardust, the Moulin Rouge, the Silver Slipper. Guided tours only. The 'Brilliant!' night show ($45) projects art onto the signs and is genuinely beautiful. There's a speakeasy in the basement you need a password to enter. Nevada residents get discounted admission.
Springs Preserve
Spring Valley
180 acres of desert botanical gardens, walking trails, and wildlife habitats at the site of the original springs that gave Las Vegas its name. Museums on desert ecology and water conservation. Way more interesting than it sounds — it's a genuinely beautiful escape from concrete. $18.95 adults, $10.95 kids 3-17, under 3 free.

Lion Habitat Ranch
Henderson
Small animal sanctuary in Henderson with lions, an African painted dog, emus, and a giraffe you can feed. $25 adults, $20 kids. Not a zoo — it's a nonprofit habitat for retired MGM Grand lions and rescues. Intimate and personal, the guides know every animal by name. Giraffe feeding is $10 extra and worth it.
